We are seeking a committed and talented individual to drive, develop and sustain Waters’ Food business in Central Europe as a Food Market Development Manager. Leading field sales development activities, this individual will be a key to our success in this market for Waters full portfolio of technologies, products, solutions and services. Something especially interesting with this role is the opportunity to proactively collaborate with many teams in European Field Operations, Worldwide marketing and product management.


  • Drive business growth and achieve the Central European food sales target in close collaboration with field teams
  • Design and implement Central European marketing plan, in alignment with corporate strategy, to increase market awareness, ensure customer engagement and generate high quality sales leads
  • Assist with sales opportunities and provide technical sales advice; creating collateral and sales tools for field sales as necessary and developing business within strategic accounts
  • Develop network and establish sustained collaboration with European key opinion leaders regulatory laboratories and leading academics
  • Prioritize and deliver training to the internal field organisation
  • Provide business analysis and market intelligence covering key market dynamics, major business opportunities & challenges and competitive trends to the senior management teams


  • BSc degree in Chemistry or a related science as a minimum
  • Deep knowledge of food testing market and related applications and legislations
  • Good technical background and experience of LC and LC/MS technology
  • Experience in a customer-facing role in LC/MS (e.g. LC/MS sales, demonstrations, business development or marketing)
  • Results driven, self motivating, accountable with leadership and initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good team player and collaborator
  • Prioritization, planning and organization skills
  • Quick learner and willing to work in new markets
  • Spoken and written fluency in English; an additional European language, particularly German, would be a plus
  • For a candidate based in Eschborn (Frankfurt area, Germany) or Zellik (Brussels area, Belgium), a willingness to travel on average 50% of their time. For other locations, travel requirements would be greater.
